Donald N. Ricci, 65 of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.
One of sixteen children, he was born in Nanticoke, son of the late Sabatino and Lucia DiGiacomo Ricci.
Donald was a graduate of Nanticoke High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. During his lifetime, Donald worked for FEMA in disaster assistance and was the owner/operator of the former Smeresky’s Service Station, Nanticoke.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by brothers: Peter and James; sister: Jean Guskiewicz.
Surviving are: lifelong partner, Annette Bodine and their cat NIPS; brothers: Angelo, Ashley; Samuel, Wilkes-Barre; Anthony, Jenkins Township; John, Astoria, IL; Louis, Dallas; Robert, Snow Camp, NC; sisters: Antoinette Simchick, Columbia; Louise Pavone, Nanticoke; Rose Pelas, Bloomsburg; Mary Brink, Nanticoke; Eleanor Hamrick, Glen Lyon; Lucy Ricci, Nanticoke; numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are private by Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 173 E. Green St., Nanticoke.
Don, I miss you a lot. I want to say Thank You for letting me say GOOODBYE to you before you left this earth. You did however left us with love in your heart and for that our family (Ricci Family) will always be thankful. I know you are with our brothers and sister. Tell them and Mom and Pop that we said Hi.
